After the Super Cup, Queiroz cut three Esteghlal players from the national team.
Following their Super Cup victory, only three of Esteghlal’s six national team players were retained by Queiroz, as reported by ISNA.
The national team’s fourth training camp ended on Thursday afternoon after a final session led by Queiroz, with 17 days to go until the World Cup. The national team’s training camp ended with a tough but invigorating session. After warming up at Paka, the players moved to the second pitch for tactical drills under Queiroz.
Both Shajea Khalilzadeh and Mohammad Hossein Kanani Zadegan participated in the training. Following yesterday’s Super Cup match, both Seyed Hossein Hosseini and Roozbeh Cheshmi underwent recovery training sessions at the Paka complex. Abolfazl Jalali was forced to rest due to falling ill.
Consequently, Saleh Hardani, Mohammad Mahbi, and Mehdi Mehdipour, who had been part of previous national team training camps, were omitted from this call-up. It’s uncertain if Queiroz will reconsider his decision regarding these players.
Several Iranian coaches participating in the coaching course were present at today’s training session to evaluate the players’ performance under Queiroz. The national team will start a new phase of training next Saturday.
